Hello Ellen Hopkins Families!

Our Great Literacy Expedition continues! Help us get a pledge from all 50 states! Look for more details on our Ellen Hopkins Read A Thon as we celebrate Read Across America this month. Attached is the Read Across America Calendar and you find out more in our monthly newsletter which is attached below!

We are a third of our way to our goal with 18 days left! Let's go Team Hopkins!

Look for all the details on how to work together to celebrate reading and work towards a big goal to bring more books, more fun and more opportunities to Ellen Hopkins!

Success Tip of The Week: Strategies for Improving Your Child's Reading and Writing: Check out this great website with lots of resources, tools and support for families in regards to reading. We are seeing improvements every day as our students stretch towards their goals! Keep supporting them, reading with them, and sharing how important school is for future success.

Things to Note:

Reminder: Early out on Wednesday, March 18 and no school on Thursday, March 19 and Friday, March 20 for spring break!

Family Conferences: Conferences continue next week on Tuesday, March 17. Please sign up for a time to meet with your child's teacher. Our goal is 100% participation! Please contact us if you need assistance setting up a time to meet. 218-284-4300

Reporting Absences: Please report absences to the front office before 9 am. You can call in and leave a message or enter the absence in the Powerschool Parent Portal. Entering by 9 am helps us know who is out and it saves you from our automated call and messages. Thanks for your help with this!

Yearbooks: Forms have been sent home with students and you can pick up one in the office if you need one. Order now! Feel free to place your yearbook order now using this easy online link.

Substitutes Wanted!

Do you know someone looking for a fulfilling way to spend their daytime hours? Or someone who is great with kids and is looking for a little extra money to pay bills? From our kitchens to our classrooms, the district is looking for subs for a wide variety of roles! Visit https://moorheadschools.schoolspring.com/ and search "Substitute" for substitute positions available.

Your Voice Matters: Share Your Experience with Youth Programs!

The Minnesota Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF), with Management Analysis and Development (MAD), is conducting a brief, confidential survey for parents and caregivers across Minnesota. Your feedback will help shape out-of-school time programs and policies, making them more accessible and effective for families. Click here to take the survey.

Thanks for all you do!
