Reminders:
Two Hour Early Out on Friday, November 21 and on Wednesday, November 26. School ends at 12:30 pm. Lunch will be served to all students. Buses will leave the school two hours early for drop off.
No School: November 27 and 28
Success Tip of The Week: The Internet and all that it holds is a part of all of our daily lives. The truth is that your child is consuming things online; some that are positive and some that don't fit with the values of your family or our community.
Sadly, we have been seeing an uptick in unkind words, "roasting", swearing, and behaviors that don't belong at school. We know that you value respectful behavior, too. Unfortunately, some of the things that kids see online are making their way into our classrooms and onto our buses.
Please talk with your students about your expectations for them and remind them that their school is a place that is meant to be welcoming and safe. We appreciate your partnership on this matter.
Need Help? Finding appropriate, interesting, and kid approved resources to share with your child or finding a book, movie or website that is a good fit can be hard. Check out Common Sense Media for online materials that match your values and keep children safe. Here is a great list from Common Sense Media of online resources that have been vetted as being appropriate and safe for kids.
Things to Note:
Need to Pick Up Early? End of day dismissal changes need to be reported before 2:00 pm at the very latest, or we cannot guarantee that the message will get to your child's teacher. Reminder that transportation changes must be reported by an adult to the office or teacher directly.
Absence Reporting: If your child is ill or has an appointment, please call in the absence daily by 9:00 am. We are required to report attendance to the state each day and must have a report from the parent to mark it excused. You can call our office to report the absence at 218-284-4300 or you can report the absence through the Powerschool portal.
Last Chance to Complete Our Fall Family Survey!
Each year in the fall and the spring, we put out a family survey. You will find the link to complete the survey here. Please fill out a survey for each child that attends Ellen Hopkins. We truly appreciate your time and input!

PowerSchool Registration: Due Yearly: Make sure to complete PowerSchool Registration for the 25-26 school year as soon as possible. Our goal is to have 100% completion. Please help us reach our goal! Log into your PowerSchool account and complete for each child. If you need help with your log in and password, feel free to call our front office at 218-284-4300.
