THINGS TO NOTE:
We have had several reports of students having Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease. Here is some helpful information about what to look for and steps to take if your child is experiencing this.
Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease: What Parents Need to Know
Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease (HFMD) is a common viral illness that typically affects young children. It is caused by a group of viruses and is usually mild, but it can be easily spread in group settings like schools.
Symptoms often include:
Fever
Sore throat
Painful sores in the mouth
Rash or small blisters on the hands, feet, and sometimes buttocks
Preventing the Spread:
HFMD spreads through close contact, coughing, sneezing, and contact with contaminated surfaces. To help prevent transmission:
Encourage frequent handwashing with soap and water
Disinfect shared surfaces and objects regularly
Keep children home if they are experiencing fever and not well enough to participate in school activities
When Can My Child Return to School?
Children may return to school when they have been fever-free for at least 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medication and are well enough to participate in school activities.
As always, please contact your healthcare provider if you have concerns or questions about your child’s health.

REMINDERS:
PowerSchool Registration is due YEARLY! Make sure to complete PowerSchool Registration for the 25-26 school year as soon as possible. Our goal is to have 100% completion. We are 78% now- please help us reach our goal! Log into your PowerSchool account and complete for each child. If you need help with your log in and password, feel free to call our front office at 218-284-4300.
Changes to End of Day Plans: We understand that emergencies come up and you may need to change the end of day transportation plans for your child. If you need to change the transportation plan for your student after 1 pm, we cannot guarantee that the message will be received as instruction is happening and teachers may not get the email. Letting teachers know a day in advance if possible is best. Thanks for helping us make every moment of learning count!
Activities and Resources in the Area: Please check out this list of activities and resources available in our community this month. You can find out more about everything from free family activities to food banks and learning opportunities.
