The FM Area Foundation has awarded Ellen Hopkins Elementary a grant from the Jan Welken Memorial Fund to support student activities.
The 2024–2025 recipients are Amelia Finck and Elijah Ehrich, recognized for their positive attitudes, outstanding effort, and exemplary sportsmanship in Physical Education classes. They consistently demonstrate respect, responsibility, safety, and true Spud Pride throughout the school.
This honor includes an activity scholarship to be used at Horizon Middle School for extracurricular programs during the 2025–2026 school year.
We are deeply grateful to the FM Area Foundation for helping us continue to honor Jan Welken’s memory through this meaningful tradition.
