Thursday Feb 9 2023 is Giving Hearts Day
Prior to Covid-19, a little over one-third of students in Moorhead Area Public Schools were eligible for free or reduced-price meals. Currently, over 2 out of 5 (40%) of students are in need of food assistance.
State and national food programs do not cover the cost for elementary milk and snack break, and yet for some, this is their first "meal" of the day when breakfast is not available at home.
A student learns best when well fed. For Giving Hearts Day, 100% of donations to Food for Thought Program (FFT) go directly to Moorhead Schools to feed the district's students experiencing food insecurity.
