Tips for reducing Holiday Stress 

Although this time of year can be filled with many fun events, it can also be stressful for children and parents.  The following tips may help you and your child manage your stress during this busy season: 

1. Start your day with gratitude 

2. Get enough sleep 

3. Help someone in need

4. Talk about your stressors

5. Smile and Laugh

6. Plan Ahead

7. Practice taking slow, deep breaths 

8. Spend quality time with loved ones 

 9. Don’t over commit 

10. Think happy thoughts

11.  Try to stay on your regular sleep schedule

12.  Set reasonable expectations for gifts and holiday activities

13.  Initiate conversations about the season

14.  Slow down and remember to enjoy all the small moments
