WALK A THON

It’s time for the annual Dorothy Dodd’s all grade Walk-a-Thon!

This PTAC sponsored event serves as our greatest fundraising opportunity for the year. Funds raised during this event help to provide opportunities for technology updates, playground equipment, special projects, student activities and filed trips throughout the school year that are not otherwise supported within the district budget. The first $500 raised goes directly to our Physical Education department for supplies.

The Walk-a-Thon will take place during the school day on Tuesday, October 3 rd (if weather is poor, rescheduled for the following day). Each grade walks during a designated time.

Parents are welcome to come walk during their students’ time to cheer them on.

What do I need to know and do to support my student/s?

  •  The individual fundraising goal for each student is $30
  •  Electronic pledge pages will be created for each student. Links will not be sent out via Email as they have been in the pervious years. Please go to the web page and search for your student to find their individual page
  • https://app.99pledges.com/fund...
  • Share the link with family, Friends, neighbors and coworkers to ask them to sponsor your child and sure they get credit for donations earned.
  • Paper pledge forms have been included for those who do not chose to participate electronically. Only cash and check donations should be documented on the paper form

Schools Goal Incentive:

  • $15,000 raised earns Mike the Custodian a pie in the face
  • $17,500 raised earns Mike the Custodian and Vice Principal a pie in the face
  • $20,000 raised earns Mike the Custodian, Vice Principal and Principal Wilson a pie in the face

Classroom Competition:

  •  The classroom with the most participation in each grade receives frozen treats. If multiple classrooms have 100% participation, the classroom with the most funds earned receives frozen treats and a Glow Party at a time determined by their teacher
  •  You can earn your student’s classroom a higher participation rate by donating a minimum of $5 to a child in their room with no pledges. This can be done the day of the Walk-a-Thon or reach out to us to select a child at ddeptac@moorheadschools.org

Individual Prizes:

  •  Climb the prize ladder on the back of the paper pledge form to earn more prizes. Each level gets an additional prize. For example, if the student hits a goal of $100, they receive the prize for reaching $100, as well as all the prizes below it.
  •  As an additional incentive, we are happy to have received 5 gift bags from Scheels each containing a $20 gift card. The top contributors from each grade will be receiving those.
