PTAC

Hello Dorothy Dodds Parents!

Our first Parent Teacher Advisory Council (PTAC) meeting is this Thursday, September 14th at 5:30pm in the Media Center.  PTAC is a group of Dorothy Dodds staff and parent/guardian volunteers. The group serves to increase communication between the school and parents/guardians, support community involvement, aid in securing funds for equipment and activities that support education and the students, and assist at school functions.

Meetings are generally 1 hour in length. Can’t make it to the meetings but would still like to receive information about it and any events? Please reach out to us via the email below or at our Facebook page by using the QR code on flyer sent home with your student to be added to our email list.  Don’t forget to like and follow our page. It’s where you’ll find the most up to date information about our work.

We would love to see more active participation from our parents. There is always a way to help! We are hoping everyone can offer themselves with one of the 3 T’s: TIME, TALENT, or TREASURE. Whether you donate your TIME at an event, your TALENT designing a flyer or social media post, or your TREASURE with an item needed for an upcoming event, even the smallest contribution can go far. Consider donating one of the 3 T’s to make our PTAC group, and our school, successful.

To encourage participation this year, we are starting a Participation Points Program. Just showing up at meetings or volunteering for events earns your child’s classroom points. The classroom with the most points at the end of the year earns a prize.

Looking forward to seeing you at one of our meetings or as a volunteer at the events!
