Welcome to Dorothy Dodds Elementary!! My name is Tanya Stuhaug and I am the School Counselor here at Dorothy Dodds Elementary. Listed below are the counseling services I provide:
Classroom Guidance
I will be presenting lessons in every classroom on topics including skills for learning, empathy, emotion management, and problem solving.
Individual Counseling
Individual counseling is available at the request of parents/guardians, students, and teachers in order to meet the needs of students encountering difficulties with academic, social, or personal concerns.
Small Group Counseling
Groups provide students with an opportunity to receive support from peers with similar situations and/or challenges. Group topics depend on the needs of students and may include: friendship, divorce, grief, and others.
Please contact me if I can be of help at any time throughout the school year. Specific instances when you might consider communicating with me include: concerns or changes in your child’s achievement or behavior, family changes, serious illness or loss of a family member or close friend, and any circumstance in which it would be helpful to have additional support at school for your child.
