Asp Families,
Happy Sunday! We hope everyone is enjoying some rest and relaxation this Labor Day weekend. It was a busy first week and we’re exhausted as adults, we can’t imagine how you and your kids are feeling, too! We have a number of notes this week, so we’ll get to it:
No School: Remember, there is NO SCHOOL tomorrow, Monday, September 7, due to the Labor Day holiday.
Breakfast/Calm Start: Starting on Tuesday, September 8, is our standard Breakfast/Calm start to the day. ALL kids have the opportunity to choose Breakfast first if they’d like a nice, free breakfast, whenever they arrive. Our doors open at 7:20 and we start serving immediately. If students don’t want to eat breakfast at school they can choose our Calm option instead. Each grade level has a Calm location, and this is a time for students to sit calmly, read a book if they have one in their backpack, or quietly talk with friends. At 7:35 our first bell will ring and our teachers will be ready to greet their kids at their classrooms.
Morning Drop Off: If you are driving your child to school, please drop them off by door 1. Use our main parking lot or use a curb on the south side of the building. All sidewalks lead to the front door so anywhere in these areas is fine. Our parking lot on the west side of the building and our sidewalk on the north side of the building is for bus drop offs. Those students will enter through door 5. Thanks for helping us keep your kids safe!
Crosswalks & Crossing Guards: As you’ve seen, we have an amazing group of responsible, dedicated 4th grade crossing guards. Please help them by listening to their directions, starting with crossing at our dedicated crosswalks (including K parents by door 12). Wait for the guards to wave their flags and give you direction to cross. This helps keep you and your child safe!
No PETS: Please do NOT bring any pets (dogs, cats, lizards, goats, horses, etc) to school anytime, including morning drop off and afternoon pick up. We love animals, but we can’t have them at school or on our grounds due to allergies, anxieties, and unknowns. It’s already busy enough at the end of the day without adding the possible chaos associated with a pet on-site, regardless of cute or well behaved they might be, because of the previously mentioned allergies and anxieties. Thank you!
PTAC Notes: Our amazing PTAC has a short list of notes for our weekly email:
