Asp Families,
Good afternoon! One more day of school this year, which is hard to believe. We’re sending out one more family note as we wrap up the year:
Friday: As we’ve noted a few times previously, our last day is tomorrow and throughout the district it is a two hour early dismissal. For the elementary schools, including Asp, that means 12:30 pm. Confirm with your child today how they are getting home (bus, walking, pick up, etc) and if it’s something different than normal, please let their teacher know. Prior to that, though, we’ll have our year end “Block Party.” This annual event is a highlight! We’ll have sidewalk chalk, bubbles, a dance party, Gaga Ball, and maybe even some face painting! (we’re still working out the details on face painting, but please let your teacher know about possible allergies if needed) We’ll finish with Bomb Pops for ALL students before our 4th grade Clap Out. And if for some reason it’s raining we have plans to make it happen inside!
Clap Out: On the last day we’ll also Clap Out our 4th graders. Parents are welcome to watch and help Clap Out as well, starting in our lobby and then onto the sidewalk in front of the building. We’ll start at about 12:05, so plan accordingly! We can’t thank this group of student leaders enough, so let’s show them how much we appreciate them!
Summer Food Program: Once again, we’ll be serving breakfast and lunch again across the district and in neighborhood parks. Please view the attached flyer for all the details!
From all of our staff, thank you for another amazing year. For families moving onto different schools next year, we’ll miss you. And for those of you returning to us in the fall, we’ll see you in a few months! Have a great summer!
Mr. St. Louis and Mrs. Knutson, principals
