ABE instructors Sundberg and Dehmer

Sara Sundberg and Matt Dehmer, Moorhead Adult Education consortium instructors, recently presented at the Minnesota ABE Language & Literacy Institute conference in Bloomington.  The session offered support to colleagues across the state who also operate a multi-level, "one-room schoolhouse" setting.

These instructors are tasked with creating a personalized education plan (PEP) for each student and offer individualized support to them as they work in an independent study setting.  Students within the classroom are studying multiple subject areas spanning a wide range of academic levels.

Individuals enroll in free ABE classes for a variety of reasons including: to work toward a secondary credential (diploma), improve academic skills to transition to postsecondary, brush up on skills needed for the workplace, to increase digital literacy skills, and to improve their English acquisition skills.
