summer camp program

The Moorhead Police Department has an excellent opportunity for youth to have an educational yet super fun experience this summer! The Summer Youth Program (SYP) started in 1980 in an effort to get police and youth together in a positive non-threatening atmosphere. The program is offered free of charge The SYP provides 200 Moorhead youth between ages 8-12 a chance to gather with mentors from the Police Department, community, youth services, and schools for lunch, an educational presentation, and recreational activities once a week from noon to 4 pm.  

This year's program will start each week at M.B. Johnson Park (3601 11 St N) in north Moorhead. Each participant will receive a t-shirt which must be worn each week. Children must be 8 years of age at the time of registration and can be no older than 12 years of age.

Registration will be on Wednesday, June 15, from 4-7 pm at the Moorhead National Guard Armory located at 1002 15 Ave. N. A parent or legal guardian must be present with their child to register.
