2023 Graduate

Beginning in July 2023, Minnesota residents taking their official GED tests at a Pearson VUE Certified Testing Center in the state of Minnesota may qualify to do so for free.   This offer is for those who are taking their first attempt in each of the four subject areas (Math, Science, Social Studies, and Reasoning through Language Arts).  Funding to support this initiative is made possible through the Minnesota Legislature.

Moorhead Adult Education instructors conduct pretesting at the time of enrollment to identify any learning gaps and to develop a personalized education plan customized to each student.

Students may select from daytime/evening in-person classes, Google Meet (virtual) instruction, online homework opportunities, or a combination of these to prepare for each of the tests.

Once an individual has completed the preparatory materials, they will take a GED Ready (practice test) to assess their readiness in a given subject area.  If a passing score is achieved, they are encouraged to register for the official GED test in the respective subject area.  This process is done for each of the four tests.

Individuals enrolled with Moorhead Adult Education may register and take the official GED tests at the private Pearson VUE Testing Center located at Vista Center for Education.  The testing schedule is located in the documents section of the Adult Education webpage. Contact Tammy Schatz at tschatz@moorheadschools.org or (218) 284-3460 for more information.
